Important Updates to Your VISTA Login Experience

 ITS is making changes to VISTA, designed to enhance security and improve your overall login experience.

What's Changing?

  • Multi-factor authentication will be limited to the Okta Verify App
  • SMS text authentication will no longer be available

 

Why Are We Making These Changes?

To provide a more secure and robust authentication process SMS (Text messaging) as an authentication method is being discontinued by the security vendor.

 

What benefits do I get from using the Okta Verify App?

Using the Okta Verify app gives you self-service access, including:

  • Self-service password reset
  • Self-service account unlock
  • Access your account without needing cell service
  • Securely access your account without needing to enter your password. (e.g. FaceID, or fingerprint)

 

When Will These Changes Take Place?

  • We will be rolling out these updates in phases, May 27, 2025 through May 29, 2025.
  • You will receive further communication before the changes take effect.

 

What Do You Need to Do?

Your SMS factor will be automatically removed. You will then need to enroll in a new Multi-Factor Authentication method: Okta Verify
