Recreation & Leisure

Recreation and Leisure is the part of the Department of Student Activities that try to reach students who are interested in participating in athletics, adventurous and competitive events. Recreation and Leisure is led by Markus Copeland, the Director of Fitness and Wellness, and Jeffery Fleeton, the Recreation and Leisure Coordinator. Intramural sports, the rec room in Foster Hall, and different tournaments are some of the programs led by the office of Recreation and Leisure.

Intramurals gives students who are not already on the University’s sports team a chance to compete in the sports they love most. Currently, the Office of Recreation and Leisure only offers Intramural Basketball for men and women in the Fall and Spring semesters and Flag Football for men and women in the Fall semester. There are open gym times throughout the semesters for basketball and volleyball.

The Rec Room is located in the basement of Foster Hall. The Rec Room has billiards, foosball, ping pong, video game systems and more.

The office of Recreation and Leisure are looking to expand the offering for students as well. If you are interested in helping to start a new program reach out to Mr. Fleeton ( or Mr. Copeland ( (804)-524-5720.
