Producing Wealthy Social Workers

The Social Work program at Virginia State University aims to develop Innovative, Connected Global Leaders who are equipped to pursue their passions and challenge social injustice. Our vision is to produce Wealthy Social Workers who have access to a Wealth of Knowledge, opportunities, experiences, and resources. We believe in empowering our students to become agents of change, equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to make a positive impact on the world around them.

  • Through rigorous academic and field-based training, our program seeks to instill in our graduates the values of social justice, compassion, and ethical practice, while promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Our Mission is to prepare students to become socially responsible professionals who will make a positive impact in the lives of individuals, families, and communities they serve
