Safety Tips
On-Campus
- Report any suspicious activity to VSU Police @ (804) 524-5411 or dial 911
- Be familiar with your surroundings, know your route and the quickest way to get help
- Walk in groups or with a friend, if you see someone at risk, call for help immediately
- Never leave valuables unsecured or in your vehicle
- Know the location of emergency call boxes (blue light) on campus
- Do not prop open doors at Residence Halls
- Do not ignore RAVE Alert messages, as they may contain important information
- Report a crime by calling VSU Police at (804) 524-5411 or email police@vsu.edu or anonymous reporting at confidentialrptg@vsu.edu
Off-Campus (University Apartments at Ettrick)
- Report any suspicious activity to VSU Police @ (804) 524-5411 or dial 911
- Do not loan door keys to anyone
- Keep doors and windows secured at all times
- When entering through the entry gate, do not let strangers in behind you
- Do not allow strangers in your apartment
- If door keys have been lost or stolen, notify Residence Life and Housing immediately
- Do not walk alone at night, walk in groups or with a friend
