Shaleash Williams received her Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from Norfolk State University (2006). Mrs. Williams started her Social Work journey working in Adult Protective Services, Foster Care, Child Protective Services, and Family Preservation later stepping into the supervisory role as Family Services Supervisor for Education & Professional Development with the Richmond Department of Social Services. Mrs. Williams currently serves as a preceptor for BSW and MSW students from various academic institutions in the state of Virginia. Mrs. Williams has a very strong work ethic, organizational skills, and professionalism, all of which are necessary in academia.

Mrs. Williams is a member of the Virginia Alliance of Social Work Practitioners. Throughout her career, Mrs. Williams assisted individuals from different cultural, ethnic, socio-economic, educational, and other diversified backgrounds. Mrs. Williams has worked in the public and private sectors employing a range of advanced social work methods; even with the most difficult clients and families. Mrs. William’s training and experience promote effective engagement and teaching skills to aid the students in their ability to service children and families. Mrs. Williams offers commitment, integrity, and passion; qualities that are necessary for providing leadership and promoting a positive work environment and compassion to the classroom in building the future of Social Work.
