Dr. Olumide Malomo is an Associate Professor of Computer Information Systems and Cybersecurity in the Reginald F. Lewis College of Business at Virginia State University (VSU). He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Howard University and holds an MBA and multiple industry certifications, including the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CompTIA Security+, Network+, Linux+, A+, Cisco CCNA, and Microsoft Certified Professional.

Dr. Malomo brings more than two decades of combined industry and academic experience across cybersecurity, information systems, and information technology. Prior to joining VSU, he held technical and leadership roles in the banking and technology sectors and later taught at Howard University before joining Virginia State University in 2022.

His research focuses on artificial intelligence governance, cybersecurity risk management, identity and access management, cloud security, and human-centric cybersecurity. He has presented his work at national and international conferences and authored numerous peer-reviewed publications. His recent scholarship has introduced innovative frameworks, including the SPARKE Framework for AI governance and the HuCRAF (Human-Centric Cybersecurity Risk Assessment Framework), advancing practical approaches to responsible AI adoption and cybersecurity governance.

At Virginia State University, Dr. Malomo is committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service. He serves as Chair of the NSA National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) Committee for the College of Business. He has been instrumental in strengthening cybersecurity education, developing experiential learning opportunities, and mentoring students toward professional certifications and successful careers in cybersecurity and information systems.
