Research Interests

  • Academic resiliency and success in African Americans; depression in African American women; spirituality and religiosity; prevention of negative child and adolescent outcomes (i.e. delinquency); the role of culture as a protective factor; the impact of ethnic genetic testing on identity and mental health.

Clinical Interests

  • Assessment and therapy with children, adolescents, and their families; special interest in mood, anxiety, and behavioral disorders in children and adolescents
