Bio

Joshua Nyantakyi earned his Ph.D. in Accounting from Jackson State University in Mississippi, an MBA from Andrews University in Michigan, an M.S. in Accounting from Westfield State University in Massachusetts, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Cape Coast in Ghana. He is also a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), reflecting his professional expertise and commitment to excellence in accounting and financial management.

Before joining Virginia State University (VSU), Dr. Nyantakyi served as an Adjunct Professor of Accounting at Jackson State University. Passionate about student success, he takes pride in actively engaging, advising, mentoring, and coaching students while inspiring them to strive for and achieve their highest potential.

Dr. Nyantakyi also serves as a reviewer for various accounting journals. Drawing on his domestic and international professional experience, he brings a broad perspective to his teaching, research, and service. His current research interests include financial accounting and reporting, audit quality, and related areas of accounting research.
