Cassandra S. Price is a proud native of Portsmouth, VA! Respectively in 2013 and 2015, she obtained her B.A. in Public Relations and M.A. in Media Management, both from Virginia State University.

In addition to becoming the VSU Assistant Sports Information Director in 2013, Cassandra was also named head coach of the world renowned VSU Woo Woos! She maintained both roles until June 2019, were she was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Communications.

Cassandra positively publicized the VSU Athletics Department through stories, stats, graphics, website management, apparel designs and event/game day planning and operations. A few of Cassandra’s noteworthy achievements include:

  • Created, planned and oversaw the 1st VSU Alumni Winter Fest
  • Led the Woo Woos to receive the CIAA’s first Cheerleading Academic Award in 2017
  • In November 2017, facilitated the first NCAA Football Playoff game hosted by VSU
  • In March 2018, coordinated the first NCAA Men’s Basketball Playoff game hosted by VSU
  • Prepared highlight reels and publicized the 2018 NFL Draft selection of VSU’s Trenton Cannon
  • Elevated the look and flow of the VSU Athletics Hall and Wall of Fame

In 2022, Cassandra was promoted to Associate Athletic Director for Sports Communications and Marketing, where she continued to fulfill her athletic duties until her departure from the department in February 2023.

Returning to the department that helped lay her foundation, Cassandra is now the Sports Coordinator for the VSU Mass Communications Department. Alongside entering the classroom, she will be the lead in introducing a new concentration to the department, Sports Communications.

Cassandra resides in Petersburg, VA with her husband, Steven, and daughter, Charli.
