Chyer Kim
Dr. Chyer Kim is a Research Professor in the Food Safety and Microbiology Program at Virginia State University's Agricultural Research Station. His scholarship centers on food safety, microbiology, and antimicrobial resistance, with an emphasis on improving public health and food system sustainability. Since joining VSU in 2009, he has secured more than $5 million in research funding, mentored over 60 students, and published 43 peer-reviewed articles. He contributes to the broader scientific community through service as a USDA NIFA grant reviewer and editorial board member for multiple international journals. Dr. Kim advances Virginia State University's land-grant mission through impactful research, student mentorship, and Extension programs that benefit agricultural stakeholders and communities.
