Bio
Simran Dhillon is an Assistant Professor of Computer Information Systems at Virginia State University, where she teaches courses in cybersecurity, ERP systems, business analytics, and information systems. She earned her PhD with distinction in Management Information Systems from the University of Évora, along with a graduate certificate in cybersecurity and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction.
Her research focuses on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and internet privacy, with a particular emphasis on Generation Z behaviors and decision-making in digital environments. She has published in journals such as Information & Computer Security and the Journal of Computer Information Systems, and has presented her work at leading conferences including AMCIS and ICIS.
Before transitioning to academia, Dr. Dhillon worked as a systems analyst and software developer, gaining extensive experience in web technologies, SAP systems, and the full software development lifecycle. She continues to integrate this industry background into her teaching and research, contributing to curriculum development and grant initiatives in cybersecurity education.
