Dr. Joshua Nyantakyi earned his Ph.D. in Accounting from Jackson State University in Mississippi. He
also holds an MBA and a Master of Science in Accounting from Andrews University in Michigan and
Westfield State University in Massachusetts, respectively. He received his bachelor’s degree from the
University of Cape Coast in Ghana. Prior to joining Virginia State University, Dr. Nyantakyi served as an
Adjunct Professor of Accounting at Jackson State University. He is deeply committed to student success
and takes pride in actively engaging, advising, mentoring, and coaching students to help them reach
their full potential. Dr. Nyantakyi also serves as a reviewer for several academic accounting journals.
