Corey Brown serves as the Instructor of Music Production Technology at Virginia State University. He earned a B.I.S. degree with an emphasis in Music at Virginia State University, and a M.M. in Music Technology at Southern Utah University.

Corey is a multi-instrumentalist and has served as a church Music and Arts Director since 1999. He developed Audio Engineering and Music Production courses for the Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice and served as the Assistant Production Manager for the Modlin Center for the Arts at University of Richmond. He’s the owner of CT Studios: a boutique, commercially equipped recording facility, where he primarily works in Gospel, Soul, and Jazz genres.

Corey is a member of the Audio Engineering Society and is an Avid Certified Pro Tools Instructor.

He has covered FOH sound or overseen the production needs for artist such as J.J. Hairston, Lee Williams, The Canton Spirituals, Tramain Hawkins, Byron Cage, Israel Houghton, Fred Hersch, Esperanza Spalding, Aaron Diel, Immanuel Wilkins, Joshua Redman, Christian McBride, and a long list of others.

Corey’s involvement in other genres include serving as Pro Tools operator and assistant to Leslie Ann Jones (Director of Music and Scoring for Skywalker Sound), and recording Grammy winners: Kronos Quartet.
