We envision sharing our collective mental health expertise, building collaborative opportunities, and providing education and leadership at the university and on local, national, and international levels. University Counseling Center endeavors to create a diverse and multidisciplinary staff that values different perspectives and professional views. We aspire to develop a collegial, collaborative, communal environment that supports, values, and encourages both personal and professional development of staff.

Mission

The mission of the UCC is to provide a supportive climate for enrolled students to receive an array of mental health services to enhance their emotional growth and academic success during their college years and beyond. The counseling center houses four specialized services: Mental Health, Sexual Assault and Prevention, Substance Abuse and Prevention and Students with Disabilities Program. The University Counseling Center offers a range of services designed to promote the personal growth, academic success, and emotional health of students. Recognizing the interplay between students’ psychosocial development and academic performance, the Center’s holistic and student-centered approach to counseling allows the staff to help students learn to make reasoned decisions in the multiple areas of their academic and personal lives.
