The mission of ACE Strategic Learning is to support the successful transition of undergraduate students, primarily first-year college students, to the university community. Strategic Learning programs are designed to empower students throughout their educational pursuits by providing academic tutoring, informational seminars, and academic coaching. Through collaborative efforts with faculty and staff, Strategic Learning seeks to foster college success through personal responsibility, academic excellence, and persistence.
Tutoring is offered in several subjects including: Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Statistics Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Anatomy Accounting & Finance Spanish Computer Applications, and Programming Languages Nursing & Health Sciences

Additionally, Academic Success Coaches will assist with:
- Setting and achieving short-term and long-term academic goals
- Learning appropriate testing strategies based on subject/course
- Identifying and removing the barriers that prevent you from being successful
- Identifying academic and other resources available at VSU
- Students with less than a 2.3 GPA
- Students with less than 15 credit hours
- Students who miss more than 3 virtual classes per week
- Students who want extra support with facing academic challenges
- Students who have the desire to improve their academic performance and skills
Coaches provide individual semester-long support, assess the student’s strengths and needs, and devise a personalized plan of action.
