Reaffirmation

Reaffirmation is a comprehensive review process that institutions undergo every ten years.

The Reaffirmation process is comprised of five main parts:

  1. preparation of a comprehensive Compliance Certification report involving a collective analysis and judgement by the institution’s internal constituencies
  2. review of the Compliance Certificate by an off-site Committee of institutional peers from the SACSCOC region,
  3. preparation of a focused report to address specific questions of the off-site reviewers,
  4. completion of an on-site review by an on-site Committee of institutional peers from the SACSCOC region, and
  5. reasoned decision by the elected members of the Southern Association of College and Schools Commission on Colleges(SACSCOC) Board of Trustees.

Compliance Certificate Report

Institutions accredited by SACSCOC must demonstrate compliance with the standards for accreditation as contained in The Principles of Accreditation: Foundations for Quality Enhancement, and with the policies and procedures of the Commission.

The review touches all aspects of the institution, including its programs, services, and facilities. The multi-stage process is unique for each institution seeking reaffirmation of accreditation and consists of rigorous preparation by the institution and review by peers.
