Reaffirmation

Like all higher education institutions in the southern region, Virginia State University’s regional accreditation is reaffirmed every ten years by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). During the reaffirmation process, the institution must document its compliance with approximately 90 standards and requirements through an extensive peer review process and develop an acceptable Quality Enhancement Plan that focuses on the advancement of student learning and achievement.
