VSU Math Alumni Alliance

Purpose:
PROMOTE STEM EDUCATION AT VSU THROUGH 𝑅3( 𝑅𝑒𝑐𝑟𝑢𝑖𝑡𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡,𝑅𝑒𝑡𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛& 𝑅𝑒𝑠𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑐ℎ) APPROACH

Goals:

1. Create $250K Scholarship Fund within five years( Partner with VSU Institutional Advancement)
2. Develop a pool of Mentors and Role Models to guide incoming freshmen and community college transfer students (Partner with Director of the Honors Program and the Academic Center of Excellence)
3. Promote Undergraduate Research ( The Center of undergraduate Research)
4. Develop a network of internships in collaboration with industry, businesses, federal laboratories and agencies (VSU Career Center)

1. Dr. Jonathan Ransom - Deputy Director (Acting) for Structures and Materials in the Research Directorate at the NASA Langley Research Center
2. Mr. William Echols - Chief Engineer – Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Data Processing and Facilities Program, Johns Hopkins University/Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU/APL), Laurel, MD
3. Dr. Calvin Stansbury - Associate Dean STEM Education Prince George’s Community College MD
4. Ms. Camisha Parker - Associate Dean STEM Education Northern Virginia Community College
