    Virginia State University (VSU) is proud to announce that Congresswoman Lucy McBath and Senator Jennifer McClellan will be the 2019 Spring Commencement speakers. VSU’s Commencement Ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, May 19 in the VSU Multipurpose Center. Senator McClellan will deliver the commencement address at the 9 a.m. ceremony and Congresswoman McBath will deliver the commencement address at the 2 p.m. ceremony.

    Recently, 14 Virginia State University (VSU) students in the Reginald F. Lewis College of Business participated in the Virginia Future Business Leaders of America Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) State Leadership Conference and Business Competitions in Richmond, Va. VSU placed 1st place in 8 competitions, 2nd place in 10 competitions and 3rd place in three competition.

    Moguls in the Making Virginia State University students have done it again! Five Trojans have earned the opportunity to compete in the “Moguls in the Making” competition. Big Sean, a Detroit rapper and entrepreneur, and Ally Financial have partnered with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund’s (TMCF) Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E) Program to find the best and brightest entrepreneurial minds among publicly-supported historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs).

    The American Council on Education (ACE) announced today, March 27 that M. Omar Faison, Ph.D., who serves as an associate professor of biology and interim director for the Center for Agriculture Research, Engagement, and Outreach at Virginia State University, has been named an ACE Fellow for academic year 2019-20.
