    As the Small Farm Outreach Program (SFOP) at Virginia State University (VSU) expands its outreach to 74 counties, a $7,500 donation from Colonial Farm Credit will help SFOP achieve its goal of providing programs and services that assist the state’s small, socially disadvantaged and veteran beginning farmers and ranchers.

    The Reginald F. Lewis College of Business celebrated its namesake on Friday, February 15 as part of Black History Month. As part of the celebration, the College welcomed Mrs. Loida Lewis, who is an attorney, CEO of TLC Beatrice and chair of the Reginald F. Lewis Foundation. Also, alumnus Mr. Linwood Hart, who is a businessman and author joined in for the celebration. Hart is also a former friend and college roommate of Reginald F. Lewis.

    During this time of year, universities celebrate with all of the pomp and circumstance to congratulate their graduates on accomplishing one of life’s major achievement, earning a college degree. On December 15, Virginia State University (VSU) President Makola M. Abdullah, Ph.D. will shake the hands of more than 300 graduates as they embark on their new journey. One graduate holds a very special place in the President and First Lady Ahkinyala Cobb-Abdullah’s heart, their daughter, Sefiyetu. At age 19, Sefiyetu will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in mass communications with honors, summa cum laude.
