Virginia State University Summer C.A.M.P.S. are back! The University's signature summer programs, powered by VSU's College of Education and hosted on campus, are structured to focus on one or more of the following content areas:

  • Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)
  • Science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM)
  • Leadership
  • Character education
  • College readiness
  • Reading
  • Transferable skills

To register, you must first submit your scholar's information form. Once you successfully submit this form, you will receive an email summary of your responses and directions for payment submission. Submission of this form and payment must be submitted by May 15, 2026.

Future Trojan S.T.E.P. (Starting the Educational Path) Target Audience: Students entering Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades in the 2026-2027 academic year. Content Area: STEAM. Mission: Designed to provide interactive, culturally relevant, and integrated reading and math components and STEM activities. Dates: June 8th - July 2nd (Mondays through Thursdays). Sci-Tastic! (Science is Fantastic!) Target Audience: Students entering the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades in the 2026-2027 academic year. Content Area: STEM Mission: Designed to increase the skills, interest and confidence of elementary students to pursue careers in STEM fields. Dates: June 8th - July 2nd (Mondays through Thursdays). G.I.R.L.S. (Gaining Interest in Research, Leadership, and Science) Target Audience: Female students currently in the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th grades. Content Area: STEM, leadership, and character education. Mission: Designed to increase the skills, interest, and confidence of elementary school girls and to pursue careers in STEM fields. Dates: June 28th-30th. Time: All-day (overnight). Registration Fee: $200.00. B.O.Y.S. (Building Opportunities with Youth in STEM) Target Audience: Male students currently in the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th grades. Content Area: STEM, leadership, and character education. Mission: Designed to increase the skills, interest, and confidence of elementary school boys and to pursue careers in STEM fields. Dates: June 28th-30th. Time: All-day (overnight). VSU R.A.P.S. (Reading Aspiring by Poetry and STEM) Target Audience: Students entering the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades in the 2026-2027 academic year. Content Area: Reading and STEM. Mission: Designed to provide opportunities for students to increase their reading skills through culturally relevant instruction and interest in STEM. Unite STEAM L.I.T. (Unite Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics Leaders in Training) Target Audience: Students entering the 9th, 10th, and 11th grades in the 2026-2027 academic year. Content Area: STEAM and leadership. Mission: Designed to provide students opportunities to understand and apply science, technology, engineering, and math to real-life situations. Dates: June 8th - July 2nd (Mondays through Thursdays) Time: 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Cost: $150.00. *IMPORTANT NOTE*: Before completing this form, please ensure you have the following: A full transcript. For middle school students, it should reflect the scholar’s history since 6th grade. For high school students, it should reflect the scholar’s history since 9th grade. A short essay. Minimum half page, double-spaced, 12 pt. Times New Roman) from the scholar explaining why he/she would like to attend this program (e.g., what he/she hopes to learn/gain from the program, how the program will inform/impact the academic major chosen in college and/or his/her ultimate career goal, etc.). M.I.N.D. (Mindful Insights for New Discoveries) Prep Target Audience: Students entering the 9th grade in the 2026-2027 academic year. Content Area: English.
