Practicum and Internship

The practicum and internship will provide both learning of field-specific, content knowledge and acquisition of practical training and experience to anchor the content knowledge provided in didactic courses.

Clinical Practicum

Advanced Candidates must collaborate with the Clinical Coordinator for their required 150-clock hour practicum, which is to be completed with full day site visits during an official academic semester. Within the 150 clock-hour requirement, students must accrue 40 clock hours of direct services. Weekly supervision must be conducted with a site supervisor and the VSU Clinical Coordinator.

Clinical Internship

Advanced Candidates must collaborate with the Clinical Coordinator for their required 600-clock hour internship which is to be completed with full day site visits during an official academic semester. Within the 600 clock-hour requirement, students must accrue 240 clock hours of direct services. Weekly supervision must be conducted with a site supervisor and the VSU Clinical Coordinator.
