Head Men's Lacrosse Coach

The Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach will:
Be responsible for all aspects of coaching functions related to lacrosse, recruiting, budget management and administering all aspects of the lacrosse program, along with being a relentless supporter of Virginia State University and the athletics department. Abide by the rules and regulations established by VSU, the Central Intercollegiate and the NCAA. As an employee of Virginia State University, the head lacrosse coach is obligated to cooperate fully in all reported NCAA infractions per NCAA Bylaw. Assist the agency and/or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. Complete all other duties as assigned by Associate VP for Intercollegiate Athletics.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to provide leadership, teach and demonstrate basic fundamental lacrosse skills. Demonstrated experience recruiting, retention and academic success of student- athletes. Knowledge of NCAA compliance rules and regulations is required. Must have the ability to work evenings and weekends, as well as travel as needed. Must have the ability to use computer technology. Must demonstrate the ability and capacity to lead with consistent and contagious energy. Must be able to operate motor vehicles within the Commonwealth and Virginia State University written guidelines. Must possess a valid Virginia Driver’s License within 60 days of hire and throughout the duration of employment. Bachelor’s degree required. Supervisory experience required

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree is a plus.
CPR/AED Certification.
