DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent will be expected to teach graduate level online courses for the Commonwealth Graduate Engineering Program (CGEP); will teach undergraduate and graduate face-to-face/online courses in Computer Science (CS) for majors and non-majors; will assist with the further development of the CS program by actively contributing to the continuous improvement and ABET accreditation processes, curriculum development, and recruitment & retention efforts; will provide academic advisement; will participate in scholarly and research endeavors; will solicit support for the CS program by engaging in grant writing; and serve on departmental, school and university committees.
A Doctorate (or obtained by appointment date) in Computer Science or a related field is required. The department is seeking to fill positions to strengthen its foci in Cyber Security; Cyber Physical; Networking; Artificial Intelligence; Blockchain; IoT; and Cloud Computing. Candidates must be student-focused and have a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education along with a demonstrated ability to pursue scholarly activities; must have demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing; experience with sponsored research and innovative pedagogy is a plus; must demonstrate a willingness to support the ABET continuous improvement process; must have demonstrated ability to establish an externally-funded research program; and must have the ability to work with a diverse faculty and student population from diverse backgrounds is required.
Candidates at the Assistant Professor rank are preferred. Online teaching certification is preferred.
