Assistant/Associate Professor of Management, Tenure Track – College of Business
Seeking qualified applications for the Fall 2021 or Spring 2022 - Virginia State University (VSU), a public, comprehensive 1890 Land Grant institution and historically black college/university, invites applications for Faculty positions in multiple Academic Degree and Certificate Programs. VSU offers 36 undergraduate degree programs, 17 graduate degree programs, 2 doctoral degree programs and 8 certificate programs in its six Academic Colleges: College of Agriculture, Reginald F. Lewis College of Business, College of Education, College of Engineering and Technology, College of Humanities and Social Sciences and the College of Natural and Health Sciences. Teach 9 to 12 credit hours (in-person, online via synchronous or asynchronous modalities) per academic semester and provide regular office hours to meet the student needs and promote student success.
Qualified candidates must hold a PhD (or ABD) in Management, Strategy, or other appropriate terminal qualifications from an AACSB accredited university with sufficient qualifications to meet AACSB criteria for scholarly academic (SA) qualified status. Candidates must be able to teach courses in Management, Human Resources Management, Entrepreneurship, and other related (or assigned) courses. Accordingly, preference will be given to candidates with a major or a minor in these areas. Effective teaching and scholarly accomplishments consistent with the teacher-scholar model and AACSB accreditation standards, and university and professional service are also expected. Must demonstrate effective and engaging teaching skills. Must have the ability to work effectively with a culturally and educationally diverse student population. Proficiency and willingness to adapt new and emerging pedagogies in the classroom.
Preference will be given to qualified candidates who have publications in quality journals and/or a research pipeline, quality presentations at national and international conferences, and excellent teaching record. Prior teaching experience in a higher education environment is highly preferred. Professional certifications in Human Resources are highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency and experience in using instructional technologies and learning management systems (e.g. Banner/Blackboard) with ability to use technology to enhance teaching and educational experience. Demonstrated ability to measure, assess and align student outcomes within courses or programs.
