Program Administration Specialist I
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Transfer Credit Evaluator is responsible for supporting all aspects of course to course articulation in support of student recruitment and transfer services. This position will be responsible for evaluating, articulating and maintaining incoming transfer credits and processing transfer applications. Position will be responsible for keying approved transfer credits into students’ records in accordance with University policies and guidelines and practice routine verification of the accuracy of data. This includes maintaining the course equivalency databases and the student information system, utilizing the workflow in the transfer evaluation system, processing and tracking articulation forms, and assisting with the utilization of transfer student advising tools and processes. The position will also collaborate with admissions counselors on the recruitment process and work closely with prospective students interested in enrolling at the university, particularly those prospective students looking to transfer credits from other institutions. The Transfer Credit Evaluator will also assist with maintaining the institution's articulation data in the statewide Transfer Virginia Portal.
A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training, education, and work experience is required. Experience with on-line databases/student information systems is required. The successful candidate must possess a strong attention to detail and have customer service experience; must have the ability to interpret procedures and provide clear advisement; must have demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student population; must have ability to establish priorities and have excellent multi-tasking skills; must have demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume work environment, both independently and collaboratively; must have excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills; must be proficient with using computers, including word processing, presentation, spreadsheet software, and browser-based software applications, e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, and Outlook; must have the ability to multi-task across a wide range of tasks, departments, and circumstances; must have demonstrated ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and execute; must have demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills; and a working knowledge of articulation agreements and other inter-university partnerships is required.
Considerable experience with articulation and/or transfer admissions and a working knowledge of articulation agreements is strongly preferred.
