Financial Services Specialist I (Readvertisement)
The Collection Analyst position is responsible for completing the task related to collecting on the university’s delinquent accounts, from Student related debts. The analyst performs Collection, and Skip Tracing on Delinquent Perkins Loans, Tuition and Fee Accounts, University Loans and other Miscellaneous University Receivables.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will conduct collection actions in accordance with Federal and State regulations/statutes and University Policies and Procedures; perform loan management activities for loan funds administered by billing servicer; administer internal collection functions on receivables; maintain loan procedures to ensure compliance with Federal Regulations; Research and respond to inquires from borrowers; and administer University participation in the Set-Off Debt program administered by the Department of Taxation and the Vendor Set-Off program by the Department of Accounts.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Business related undergraduate degree. Must have Banner and ECSI experience; demonstrated knowledge of Federal/State Statues & Regulations that apply to debt collect and Federal Perkins loans programs; demonstrated ability to interpret regulatory changes and recommend changes to processes; demonstrated ability to perform research using a variety to resources; demonstrated ability to structure tasks in order to meet mandatory deadlines; demonstrated ability to analyze fiscal transactions for conformity with procedures and regulations; demonstrated ability to interface with university population and the general public; demonstrated ability to prepare financial reports and statements; demonstrated ability to communicate information both orally and in writing; and must have working knowledge of automated accounting systems; and Microsoft Office Suite, e.g., intermediate level MS Excel and MS Word.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Collections, call center management or credit agency experience; prior professional experience in a decentralized and/or university environment; three to five years of collections experience is a plus, accounting or business practices experience.
