Biography
Dr. Mulugeta S. Kahsai is an Associate Professor at Virginia State University, Department of Mathematics and Economics. He teaches undergraduate and graduate-level courses in Economics and serves as the Graduate Program Director. He is a research affiliate of the Regional Research Institute of West Virginia University. He has published his research in various peer-reviewed journals, presented his research findings at professional research conferences, and serves as an anonymous referee for several journals. He holds a Ph.D. in Natural Resource Economics from West Virginia University, an M.A. in Economics from California State University, Hayward, and is also a certified SAP Associate in Business Process Integration.

- Regional and rural economic development focusing on Africa related economic policy and institutional quality (governance) issues
- The impact of environmental concerns, energy, and other natural resource constraints on logistics and supply chain decisions
