DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will teach introductory chemistry lectures, and laboratories and develop upper division or graduate courses tailored to the candidate’s specific area of expertise.  The normal teaching load is 12 semester hours per semester.  Additional responsibilities include, providing student advisement; participating scholarly research; serving on department, college and university committees; and, other duties assigned by the department chair.
 

Required QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D. in biochemistry or related field is required.  Teaching experience and research/postdoctoral background in biochemistry is required. The successful candidate must demonstrate the potential for teaching excellence, developing a research program, effective communication skills and the interpersonal skill to work with a diverse array of students and colleagues. Other requirements include computer literacy and the ability to develop new undergraduate courses and work independently and collaboratively is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior teaching experience and experience leading undergraduates in research is preferred.
