Assistant Professor - Tenure Track

This is a 9-month teaching tenure-track faculty appointment in the Department of Criminal Justice.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching a full academic load (12 credit hours per semester); teaching responsibility may include multiple sections of courses each semester, i.e., Introduction to Criminal Justice, Policing, etc. at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  The successful candidate will be responsible for compliance with University’s regulations and rules governing teaching, research, and service; other responsibilities may include, conducting relevant research in the discipline; advising students; meeting assigned classes; recruiting and retaining of students; and serving on university, departmental and school committees; and additional duties including promoting the Department at campus and community functions; and other duties assigned by the Department Chairperson.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

A Ph.D.  in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or Administration of Justice or related field is required.  Strong candidates who are ABD and nearing completion will also be considered; evidence of completion of doctorate must be provided prior to appointment date.  The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of commitment to undergraduate and/or graduate teaching is required; and must possess commitment to research and scholarship in discipline.
