DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach undergraduate courses using innovative pedagogy. Participate in continuous program improvement processes, curriculum development, and recruitment and retention efforts. Provide effective student advisement; participate in scholarly activities including research, publication, grantsmanship, and professional organizations; and serve on department, college, and university committees.
Qualified candidates must hold a doctorate (or obtain a doctorate by the end of the semester prior to the appointment date) in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related area. Candidates must be student-centered and have a strong commitment to undergraduate education along with a demonstrated ability to pursue scholarly activities. Specializations in the areas of Cyber Engineering, Computer Networks, Data Analytics Engineering, and Software Engineering are desired. Other areas of computer engineering will also be considered. Successful candidates must demonstrate a willingness to support the ABET continuous improvement process. Experience with sponsored research and innovative pedagogy will be given additional consideration. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. The successful candidate must have the potential to, or demonstrate the ability to, establish an externally funded research program as well as an ability to work with persons from diverse backgrounds.
Eligibility to obtain federal grants and contracts are preferred. Teaching experience in computer engineering at the collegiate level is preferred.
