DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching and supporting the development of Electrical Engineering Technology Program, as well as interfacing with Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Technology programs. Developing support for the Electrical Engineering Technology Program from local industry and professional groups will be expected. Participate in professional organizations and in course, curriculum, laboratory, and program development. Candidates need to have a commitment to baccalaureate education along with a demonstrated ability to pursue scholarly activities. Specialization in one or more areas like Algorithm development for embedded systems, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Soft (C/C++ etc) and Hardware Programming (VHDL/Verilog HDL on FPGA, PLC etc), Drone/Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) Application areas, Circuit Analysis; Digital Electronics; Microprocessors; Digital Communication Systems; Electronic Devices; Material Science and Engineering; Digital Logic; Electrical Network Theory; Digital Integrated Circuits and other engineering technology areas is highly desired. Selected candidate must be willing to teach both lower and upper division undergraduate courses in Electrical Engineering Technology program and other duties as assigned by the department chairperson. Candidates are expected to conduct related research and develop proposals for funding agencies.

 

required QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field. Experience with sponsored research, industry, teaching or research experience at the college/university/industry level is required. We are specifically interested in candidates who can contribute to our department’s vision of building, analyzing, and leveraging interconnected, smart systems in UAVs. Successful candidate will demonstrate a willingness to support the ABET continuous improvement process and work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds.  Excellent oral and written communications skills in English are required.
