DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will teach introductory genetics lectures, and laboratories and develop upper division or graduate courses tailored to the candidate’s specific area of expertise. The normal teaching load is 12 semester hours per semester. Additional responsibilities include, providing student advisement; participating scholarly research; serving on department, college and university committees; and, other duties assigned by the department chair.
Ph.D. in Genetics or related field is required. Teaching experience and research/postdoctoral background in genetics is required. The successful candidate must have experience with current genetic/molecular techniques and analyses. Both a commitment to undergraduate teaching and developing a research program involving undergraduate and graduate students in research is required. The successful candidate must have the potential to or have demonstrated ability to establish an externally funded research program in their area of expertise that will include undergraduate and M.S. graduate students and must have active research credentials and evidence of scholarly initiatives.
