Administrative and Office Specialist II
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will provide essential functions for the department in areas of: Clery crime classifications record keeping, State Police IBR reporting, FOIA requests, court orders, RMS management, IBR auditing, ASR composition, crime analysis, and other assigned duties. Create monthly reports of crime statistics for the Chief of Police, or their designee(s). Provide statistical data of crime trends, prepare reports for local attorneys and magistrates or Judicial Affairs proceedings on campus for court testimony. Conduct background investigations, record checks, and fingerprinting for authorized personnel. Provide reports, confidential and non-confidential memoranda and statistical spreadsheets to management. Produce and maintain special event invoices, collect and process internal requisitions for payment through Banner; prepare and submit check requests; maintain a comprehensive electronic filing system for the same. Maintain working relationships with surrounding agencies’ Records Departments, and other external departments.
A minimum of an Associate’s degree, or any combination of education and experience in criminal justice, corrections, police law, or other related field. Qualified candidates must possess an excellent knowledge of state/federal crime classifications. Candidates must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines, possess strong analytical skills as demonstrated by experience in accessing and utilizing data for decisions making, and have excellent skills in managing various criminal justice systems. Qualified candidates should possess effective interpersonal skills, be a strong communicator – verbal/written and demonstrated ability to work effectively across functional areas to achieve established goals.
Investigations experience is a plus. Working knowledge of Banner data system.
Successful completion of an in-depth background investigation to include, reference checks, fingerprint based criminal history check (including sexual offender registry checks), degree validation, DMV (driving history) records checks and license, will be completed on the selected candidate. Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to complete a Statement of Economic Interests as a condition of employment.
