Education Coordinator I
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent will manage the statewide activities of the Virginia Association of the Technology Student Association (TSA) by providing technical assistance to school division personnel and professional organizations. Provide leadership programs, state association management, and financial and fiscal administration. Prepares curriculum based testing materials for regional and statewide competitive events. Organize and coordinates annually fall workshops, regional spring fairs, and state conferences. Coordinate the Virginia TSA Executive Council, regional and statewide community service projects. Evaluate TSA program and activities at the regional and state level. Work with the Department of Education staff. Provide in-service and other support activities and teaching strategies to maintain, improve and expand the technology student association as an integral part of the curriculum of local school divisions.
Considerable knowledge of the Virginia Technology Student Association including its management, policies, procedures and leadership programs. Considerable knowledge of technology education studied by middle and high school students; establishing and maintaining business partnerships, of national TSA regulations and the Virginia TSA constitution and bylaws. Knowledge of financial management procedures of non-profit organizations including: conference arrangements, processing of payment vouchers, and establishment and maintenance of budgets. Candidate must have demonstrated ability as a Technology Education teacher and TSA chapter advisor; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, experience with formal and informal presentations; demonstrated ability to interdependently coordinate the successful completion of projects with critical deadlines.
Graduate degree in Technology Education or equivalent preferred. Experience working in Institution of Higher Education.
