Sexual Misconduct Policy
Virginia State University is a community of trust whose existence depends on strict adherence to standards of conduct set by its members. Sexual misconduct is a serious violation of these standards and will not be tolerated in any form, including date and acquaintance rape. Sexual assault is any sexual activity undertaken without consent; or when forced by use of threats, intimidation, physical restraint or violence. Sexual Assault Education is designed to: Educate students about the relationship between alcohol and sexual misconduct. Dispel myths and misconceptions that promote sexual violence. Educate student about the impact of sexual assault on victims. Provide lectures and co-sponsor risk-reduction training. Provide brochures, posters, videos, current statistsics and speakers to reinforce awareness and understanding. Ensure appropriate response, support and options are provided to a victim of sexual assault.
