DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide students with appropriate individual guidance concerning academic planning and major/career exploration. Provide students with academic and career planning, curriculum placement, advising of new and returning students, the instruction of orientation classes, student conduct, and the administration and interpretation of aptitude and career inventories and assessment instruments. Coordinate and supervise the collection and maintenance of accurate records addressing the identity and curricula of students receiving counseling and tutorial services. Maintain student records to ensure academic requirements are met prior to advancement to the Business Phase. Ensure that student records are up-to-date in the Business School’s electronic database. Lead and implement seminars and workshops for Professional Development for the School of Business students. Provides leadership in the maintenance of scholarship opportunities for the students in the School of Business and ensures all students are aware of these opportunities. Provide support to the Academic and Internship Coordinator. Teach one Freshman Studies course. Ensure all projects are completed in an effective and professional manner.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A comprehensive knowledge of academic advisement practices, core values of academic advising and university policies, resources and school requirements are required. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct and monitor academic programs/activities; to interpret rules and regulations; to provide mediation and/or consultation; and, to analyze data and make recommendations. A Master’s degree with coursework in education, counseling, business or psychology or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Candidate must have demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Candidate must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Computer literacy is required.
