COPELAND & FORTUNE NAMED TO ALL-CIAA TEAM

Virginia State University's Markus Copeland (left) and Brandon Fortune (right) have been named to the 2009 All-CIAA First Team in football, the CIAA announced on November 5.
Copeland, a junior offensive lineman from Lynchburg, Va., anchored a Trojan offensive line which allowed VSU to lead the CIAA in passing efficiency (131.2). The Virginia State offensive line also allowed VSU to lead the CIAA in field goals with 10.
Fortune, a graduate defensive lineman from Fredericksburg, Va., was tied for 10th in the CIAA 69 tackles. He was also ninth in the CIAA with five sacks.
