Plummer Shines in 100-82 Loss to George Mason

Virginia State University's Brandon Plummer (above), making his first appearance in a Trojan uniform, scored 23 points as George Mason University downed VSU 100-82 on November 5 in Fairfax, Va.

Plummer hit nine of 11 shots, including going 3-for-3 from beyond the three-point arc, to lead all scorers in the exhibition contest.

VSU's Jacobe Simpson added 19 points while Ricardo Lipsomb led the Trojans with five rebounds.

The game also marked the debut of new VSU head coach George White, who took over the reins of the Trojan basketball program in April.

George Mason was paced by Andre Cornelius' 22 points.

The contest was the only exhibition for the Trojans in 2009.  VSU now travels to Murfreesboro, N.C., to meet Chowan University in the CIAA opener for both teams on November 16.
