Lady Trojans End Regular Season with Win

Virginia State University's women's volleyball team rounded out the 2009 regular season on a high note when the Lady Trojans downed Lincoln University 25-14, 25-10, 25-19 on October 24 in Lincoln University, Pa.

VSU's Nikkisha Walker led the Lady Trojans with six kills while teammate Brittani Pittman had three service aces.

Although no assists statistics were kept, it is believed that VSU's Reneisha Hill garnered 25 assists in the three-set victory.

The win gave VSU a final regular-season record of 10-13, and the Lady Trojans finished in second place in the CIAA Eastern Division standings.

The Lady Trojans will face Saint Augustine's College in the opening round of the CIAA Volleyball Tournament, to be held starting November 6 at the Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton, Va.
