Women's Cross-Country Capture First Place at Final Home Meet

Virginia State University's women's cross-country team captured top honors at the 2009 VSU "Last Chance" Meet, held on October 8 in Rogers Stadium in Ettrick, Va.
VSU finished first with 27 team points. Southern Virginia University was second with 47 points while the University of the District of Columbia was third with 51 points. Virginia Union University was fourth with 108 points while Elizabeth City State University was fifth with 129 points.
VSU's Jenna Arnold was first overall with a time of 21:37:97 over the five-kilometer course. Shayla Szabo of the Lady Trojans was second with a time of 21:48:59 and Raphaela Garris was fourth in 22:11:60. Sierra Clayton was fifth in 22:32:32 and Faith Brock rounded out the scoring by finishing 15th in a time of 25:05:26.
