DAVIDSON, ARNOLD KEY TO VSU SWEEP OF VUU

Virginia State University's Jenna Arnold (right) and Timothy Davidson (left) powered VSU to a sweep of Virginia Union University in the VSU Invitational Cross-Country Meet, held on September 26 in Rogers Stadium.

Arnold finished in first place with a time of 21:37.55 over the five-kilometer course.  VSU's Shayla Szabo was second with a time of 22:03.85 while Jourdan Johnson finished third in 22:15.93.

VSU's Raphaela Garris was fourth at 23:09.68 and Faith Brock was eighth with a time of 27:38.56.

VSU took the meet with a team score of 18.  VUU was second with a score of 37.

On the men's side, Davidson was second overall with a time of 29:37.18 over the eight-kilometer course.  VSU's Brandon Allen was second with a time of 30:36.62 and Eric Williams was fourth with a time of 30:34.62.

VSU's Andie McIntyre was sixth with a time of 31:08.68 and Maurice Brown rounded out the scoring with a seventh-place finish with a time of 31:59.34.

VSU took the meet with a team score of 22 while VUU finished with a score of 33.
