Lady Trojans Capture Season Opener

Virginia State University's Jenna Arnold (above) took top honors as the Lady Trojans captured the 2009 VSU Season Opener Cross-Country Meet by downing Shaw University 15-60 on September 9 in Rogers Stadium.

Arnold finished the five-kilometer course in a time of 22:35.8.  VSU's Shayla Szabo was second with a time of 22:42.54.

VSU captured the top five positions, with Jourdan Johnson finishing third, Sierra Clayton finishing fourth and Raphaela Garris finishing fifth.

The top Shaw finisher was Donchelle Florence, who finished 10th in a time of 28:14.84.
