Dr. Gymama Slaughter

Dr. Slaughter is an Assistant Professor of Computer Engineering in the Department of Engineering & Technology. She received her B.S. in Chemistry from Virginia Commonwealth University. She went on to receive a M.S. in Chemical Engineering and then a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Commonwealth University . Dr. Slaughter research interest is in applications of biosensors and bioelectronics, surface chemistry of polymers related to bio-immobilizations, biocompatability and implantable biosensors, chemical and biosensor devices based on redox-active and electroconductive polymers, thin polymer films fabricated on metallic and semiconductor devices, AC impedance spectroscopy applied to the study of ion and small molecule transport in organic thin films and bio-membranes as it relates to signal transduction.
