SALARY RANGE: COMMENSURATE WITH EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Director of Development, major gift officers will identify, cultivate and conduct visits to individuals, corporations and foundations capable of contributing $25,000 or more annually. The successful candidates will effectively present the case for philanthropic support and explain gift opportunities to potential donors in collaboration with the Director of Development and deans/directors/faculty/staff of the various colleges. Manage a major gift portfolio (100+ prospects) in various stages of involvement and work prospects through the development process. Collaborate with Director of Development and colleagues on moves management of prospects from cultivation to ask to stewardship. Collaborate with Director of Development and Grant Writer on generating proposals. Facilitate development, implementation, and/or coordination of a School/Unit Corporate/Alumni Advisory Board. Participate in development of special events & fundraising programs as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required with considerable fundraising experience in higher education or a non-profit organization. High ethical standards and knowledge of CASE best fundraising practices are essential. Candidates must be proficient in managing a major gift portfolio (100+ prospects and donors). Demonstrated success in soliciting and closing gifts required. Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, execute and achieve fundraising goals. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing is essential. Candidate must have working knowledge of state and university policies and procedures. Must also a have willingness to work early mornings/evenings for some special events. Frequent travel, including overnight trips is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree preferred. Candidate must be proficient using Raiser’s Edge and have Capital campaign experience.
