Management Plan

To successfully achieve the objectives of the program, several committee were established.  The role of each committee is well defined and aligned with scheme of work. The composition of the committees is as follow:

HBCU UP Advisory Committee

Provides oversight on the progress and to assist the project team in the development, review, implementation, and updating of the project’s strategic plan.  The committee is composed of representatives from industry, federal and state agencies, and other academic institutions that will recipient of our students.  The committee usually convenes annually, unless there is need for additional meeting.  The committee works closely with the project evaluators.

 

HBCU UP Steering Committee

Provides advice and work closely with the management team.  The committee provides needed help and administrative support to the project.  The committee is composed of Chairs of the STEM departments, representative of registrar office, recruitment office, Honor Program, student support center.  The committee meets at monthly basis.

 
Undergraduate Research Committee

Members of this committee are faculty members from the STEM departments.  The committee foresees the guidelines for the establishment of the Undergraduate Research Center (s). They work with the HBCU UP Project Directors and faculty members in planning, implementing, and assessing the Annual Undergraduate Research Conference at VSU and any other undergraduate research activities such as undergraduate research workshops, undergraduate research mentoring program, and summer undergraduate research program.
