TROJANS FALL IN SEASON-FINALE

Virginia State University's Shannon Rush stroked a three-run homer in the top of the ninth inning to give VSU an 18-17 lead, but Mount Olive College bounced back and scored a run of their own in the bottom of the ninth and then won it on a walk-off homer  in the 10th inning as VSU closed out the 2009 with a heart-breaking 21-18 loss in Wilson, N.C., on April 23.

VSU banged out 22 hits against the 2008 National Champion, but Mt. Olive was able to keep the Trojans at bay when it counted.  VSU stranded nine runners.

Rush also had a pair of doubles to go with his home run.

VSU's Shawn McEnhimer also slugged a home run, his team-high eighth of the seaon.

VSU finishes the 2009 season with a 22-24 record overall.
