Bowling: Lady Trojans Place Third at CIAA Championships

Virginia State University's bowling team finished third at the CIAA Championships, held March 21-23 in Durham, N.C.

The Lady Trojans were elminated from the tournament in a heart-breaking tiebreaker match against eventual champion Elizabeth City State University. By CIAA rules, the tiebreaker in the elimination round is a modified baker game in which both teams play the last five frames instead of 10 frames in a normal baker game.

ECSU got four straight strikes in the tiebreaker.

VSU's Kayla Moore was named to the All-CIAA Team, and Dannielle Gammon was honored for bowling the highest score in the CIAA this season. Gammon bowled a 278 in the CIAA Eastern Division Tournament.
