Student-Athlete Profile: Reneisha Hill

Her serve has rapidly become famous at Virginia State University volleyball games.
She holds the ball high.
She arm motion lifts her body off the ground, and meets the ball just as it reaches her outstretched hand.
In a second, it’s all over with, with the ball resting on the floor near the opposing team.
This is Reneisha Hill at her best, and love for the game is what keeps her motivated.
The junior from Houston, Tx, who is the captain of the Volleyball team has taken on a new role this season and has helped the lady Trojans to a 6-10 record this season.
Traditionally being a defensive specialist and an outside hitter, Hill who moved to the setter position this season is defiantly making here presence known this season with the new position. Hill is currently 5th in conference in assist and tied for 8th for service aces.
Monday’s game against the Lady Bulldogs of Bowie State did not turn out the way Hill wanted (a 3-0 loss) to but she is pleased with the VSU’s performance.
By being the team captain she helps the team out by leading by example.
“Since I am the team captain I give my all. I want the team to feed off of my energy,” she said.
And her serve has become her trademark. With Hill serving, the Trojans are first in the CIAA in service aces.
“Serving is the best aspect of our game. It is what keeps us in most of our matches.” she said.
The mathematics and pre-dentistry major is looking to come out on top with the remaining games this season.
Hill feels as though remaining focused and working as a team will get the job done.
