Assistant Football Coach
Mike Arthur returns to Virginia State University for his third season as the Offensive Line coach and Strength and Conditioning Coordinator. Mike comes to VSU from Wingate University in North Carolina. While at Wingate, he was the assistant offensive line and tight ends coach where he coached Chris Conklin, a recent NFL Draft pick of the Carolina Panthers.
Mike spent the 2004 season as the Offensive Tackles and Tight Ends coach at Glenville State College. During the 2003 season, he was a student assistant at Glenville State as well. Mike was a three-year starter at Glenville State College, and started every game of the 2001 season in which the Pioneers won the WVIAC championship. Coach Arthur received in Bachelors’ Degree in Physical Education form Glenville State College and his Masters Degree in Exercise Science form California University of Pennsylvania. He and his wife Melanie live in Midlothian, VA and have a son, Brycen.
