Chiante Wester
Chiante Wester enters her fourth year coaching at Virginia State University.
Chiante is a graduate of Shaw University, where she received her Bachelor's of Sciences degree in Allied Health Professional while participating in Women's Basketball from 2000-2002.
While attending Shaw she received several awards such as outstanding player, Outstanding Service Award, Athletic Trainer Senior Award, Most Improved Basketball Player and an Outstanding Student Honoree at Shaw University.
Upon graduation she moved on to be in charge of all youth at Garner Road YMCA where she was the Director of Youth Basketball Operations and Child Care Department.
After four years of service, she left the YMCA to become the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach for Virginia State University.
While serving her third year, she was one of 25 coaches chosen from 500 applicants to attend the 2008 NCAA Women's Coaches Academy.
Chiante's duties as a coach are managing study hall and academic progress. She is involved with all aspects of the Lady Trojan program. She serves as Film Coordinator and handles all film exchanges. She is responsible for recruiting, scouting, academic progress, supervising all non-coaching personnel, player development and administrative duties.
