Strategic VisionVirginia State University is proud to present two of its many significant accomplishments realized over the past decade. These publications, entitled 2020 Vision Plan and the VSU Master Plan were produced through a collaboration of many dedicated faculty, administrators, staff and students of this institution, who are committed to the future of VSU. Beginning in the year 2005 and reaching well beyond, the transformation of Virginia State University documented in the 20/20 Vision Plan and Master Plan will essentially elevate our standing within the Commonwealth of Virginia and the nation, in our effort to ensure the quality education all citizens deserve and seek. The 20/20 Vision Plan initiative will strengthen and enhance all components of the university as we strive to become a SACS Level 6 institution, a Carnegie Doctoral/Research Intensive university and move to the upper echelon of Tier 2 in the U.S. News and World Report rankings. This plan is comprised of Action Items that will enable us to measure each goal or accomplishment as we go along. We take great pride in the selection of this design, which challenges us on all fronts of accountability, oversight and controls. Fueling our external resources to the University will contribute to the financial allocations and long-term investments faced by many colleges and universities. The Master Plan will guide the physical changes that will occur throughout campus while VSU progresses toward the academic and capital improvement goals outlined in the 20/20 Vision Plan. The Master Plan will provide the roadmap by which growth will occur in an orderly fashion, changing the look and feel of VSU, while giving it a more integrated physical presence into the surrounding areas. We believe this 20/20 Vision Plan and VSU Master Plan are key to our continued growth and future success.
